Exclusive & Exquisite

Tucked away on a small peninsula on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, Punta Mita is a haven for vacationers seeking low-key luxury. The resort town is only a short drive from Puerto Vallarta – another Mexican gem for its beaches, water sports, shopping, and dining – but its exclusivity can make guests feel worlds away from other travelers.

Relax on your beachside palapa as you take in the exquisite views of the Pacific Ocean and Banderas Bay, surrounded by the backdrop of the majestic Sierra Madre Mountains. Punta Mita lies on the same latitude as Hawaii, meaning year-round balmy weather and gentle sea breezes – perfect for learning to sail or surf. Spend time in the gorgeous turquoise water snorkeling among colorful coral reefs, swimming with dolphins, or paddle boarding past rocky vistas. Fresh seafood, exotic cocktails, and lively nightlife – from salsa clubs to chic beachside lounges – are easy to find, but you can easily hide away with your loved ones in your fully staffed villa and want for nothing at all. With a private pool, beach, and maybe even your own personal chef, complete seclusion is completely heavenly. A luxury villa vacation in Punta Mita is nothing less than your own private piece of paradise.

When to Go

With gentle sea breezes year-round and average temperatures between 85° and 75°, Punta Mita is a perfect beach getaway no matter the season. The most popular travel times coincide with harsh winter months elsewhere in the world, when travelers are longing to flee cold temperatures for sun-drenched Punta Mita beaches. High season is from mid-November to April, so make sure to book well in advance if you’re planning a villa rental during these months.

Travel Tips
  • Make sure to arrange transportation from the airport to your villa beforehand. That way, you can start relaxing from the minute you land.
  • Keep in mind that sunscreen can be very expensive in tourist destinations. So don’t forget to pack a sunscreen with a high SPF, as the sun is also very strong here.
  • The official currency is the Peso, but the U.S. dollar often widely accepted. Major credit cards are also accepted in many large establishments.
  • Depending on your group, decide if you’ll want to rent a car or if you will book excursions including transportation and rely on taxis to get you elsewhere. Both options are just as easy in Punta Mita, but it helps to plan beforehand.
  • Gratuities in Mexico go a long way – be sure to tip your staff well, both in your villa and while out-and-about.
