The town of Primošten is situated on an island that was connected to the mainland five hundred years ago so as to reach their fields easier. The town’s name originates from this as well - it has been derived from the Dalmatian term ‘primostiti’- to bridge. Surrounded by seven small islands, Primošten is a gift of nature that leaves no one unimpressed. What nature has not given, the hard-working people have created to make Primošten one of the most attractive destinations on the Adriatic. Old stone houses, churches and narrow stone-paved streets (Dalmatian ‘kala’) show a perfect blend of the past and the present.
